Default Winter Haven

We are considering Winter Haven for a long winter break and possibly looking at real estate. Any thoughts about quality of life there for a senior couple? Safe? Things to do? etc. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Winter Haven is a beautiful area. I've been there many times and was impressed. Unfortunately Cypress Gardens closed, but otherwise it's a lovely area, very quiet and serene from what I've seen.

It's quiet and pleasant. Pleanty of seniors. I'd look at Auburndale which is the next town over, and I've heard wonderful things about it.

My grandmother currently lives there- moved to the area in the '50s to raise her family and hasn't left It's a home-y area, with lots of older homes and older establishments. It's always seemed to me as almost exclusively a community of seniors, but I'm just looking through the biased eyes of a grandkid.
