Hi there. Just thought I would mention this to you. Buffalo with it's stadium of over 72,000 has had a long tradition of sellouts. The current run until this Sunday goes back 26 games to 2006 despite having the worst team in the league. Until now. Fans have decided to take a breather while the team completely bottoms out this year.
And oddly enough our sting of sellouts is coming to an ened aginst, drum roll please...
Jacksonville along with their new softie back up qb lol. If the Bills were able to have done what the Jags did by covering up 10,000 seats the sellout string would likely date back to the inception of the team!

By the way the Bills play one pre season game and one regular season game in Toronto for the last few years and the next two I think also and we the fans in Buffalo, HATE THAT!
Don't bank on Toronto getting or falling in love with a team either. It's a melting pot and they love the NFL. But more importantly they love betting on all the teams in the NFL more than supporting an individual team.

Not gonna happen ... the Rogers Centre seats only 54000 for NFL football, which would rank it last in capacity among all NFL stadiums. The Bills average way more than 54000, even in the worst of times. If you go by the ratio of average attendance to metro population, Buffalo would be near the top of the list.

You are basing Florida's football interest on UCF's attendance?

1) It's not a true football school yet and non-UCF students/grads don't think of it as such
2) The team is not very good
3) You are talking about a state that has 3 major college programs steeped in history. Most fans of UF, FSU, and UM (which basically covers 99.9% of college football fans in the state) already have their football time set aside for their teams. Even students at UCF are usually fans of one of those schools.

Plus there are NO plans at the moment to build a new, bigger stadium in Toronto. Building such a facility with a significant percentage of public funds is likely to be a total non-starter in Toronto, which means the prospective private owner of the team would have to pay to buy the team, PLUS build his (her!) own stadium as well.

It is of course within the realm of possibility, but not very likely in the short or medium term I'd say.

2) They're 4-2, with close losses to BCS schools.

3) Steeped in history?? UF's history before the 90's was that of mediocrity. FSU was a girls' school before 1950, and Miami's history is only recent and steeped in thuggery. I don't even consider Miami part of Florida, anyway.

I think there's a lot more loyal fans to the other schools because they've been around much longer. My grandfather went to UF in the 40's, so my family (although not religiously at all) are naturally Gator fans. I think team loyalties are passed down, in some cases, generation to generation. UCF hasn't had enough time to really gather a following. Plus.. they haven't ever been really good.
