I don't think there is a single city in the US or even the world who matches this description.
Exactly. (Camden might be the one city that the entire place is a ghetto...)

NO!!! Like any area there are bad pockets. There are also some areas with multi-million dollar homes, and the majority is filled with very safe middle-class neighborhoods.

For someone that complains about generalizations, you sure do like to dish them out.

Camden Waterfront

Victor Lofts

I've been there. It's not safe. Even driving into the area to get to the aquarium and Blockbuster (or whatever it's called these days) is bad. You don't become the #2 most dangerous city in the country because it's a great, upscale place to live. http://os.cqpress.com/citycrime/City...8_Rank_Rev.pdf

There's nothing generalized in my statement about Camden.

I do not disagree that there is crime in Camden (Orlando does not do to hot in this area either), however to say that the entire city is a ghetto is false and untrue, and I am sure that the residents at the Victor Lofts and similar areas would disagree. There is much redevolpment going on with many luxury apartments coming to the city Dranoff Properties (http://www.dranoffproperties.com/radiolofts.html - broken link) . Also keep in mind that it is a very small city of 79,000 in a state of 8.7 million people.

The problem is that you're likely to get your head blown off because you drive into a shootout between gang members on your way home to the one decent place to live in the entire city. It's NOT a good place to live.

At least with Orlando you can get to the nice areas without driving on city streets through the bad areas.
