Actually, Longwood, Oviedo and Lake Mary are quite reasonable ( in my estimation). They are a little ways from the attractions and Downtown Orlando but they are really good communities so for many the commute is worth it.

Yeah I am not trying to steer the ship off topic, but there is a counter argument to the recent topics about Orlando being one big ghetto and there are areas that are the antithesis to the first pictures in this thread.

For every gated area you will find many times more homes that are not behind gates where good people live, work and play safely.
Most all Cities have their crime areas, when you see something help out and report it, I do.
When I go to the local grocery I keep my eyes open but feel safe.

ok a friend of mine was telling me about the downtown area. i need specifically a house with a garage because i have a 12 foot trailer on the back of my truck

Of course Orlando has PLENTY of nice and safe areas. I'm not saying that orlando as a whole area is ghetto, but there are some areas you won't want to get lost in. Anyways, Miami had a thread just like this.
