Current Assessment of Seminole High (Sanford) (Apopka: fit in, house, magnet school)

My sons are slated to go to Seminole High and I wanted to get some current info from anyone with first hand knowledge of the school since a lot can change in a few years.. They are 9th & 10th graders. They have never been to a predominantly black school (and we are black) so they will not just fit in because of their skin color, I am just trying to be as honest as possible so I can get the best information possible. I have heard that ALL of Sanford goes to this school so you will get the good and the bad, but again I dont know anything from someone that has a child there or that graduated maybe last year?

Both my son's Graduated from Seminole High. The youngest just last year. They never complained about it. They both liked most of there teachers. My youngest never missed a day even when he was sick he still wanted to go. You mentioned you were black we are not. I think Seminole High is decent school for all who attend. They have some good advanced curriculums also I think they called it a magnet school. The IB and the Heath Accadimey are 2. ( I think thats what it was called)
I might be wrong about the advanced curriculum names but I'm sure you get the gist. Anyway JMHO Hope it helped

Thank you so much for your answer! We made an offer on a house in Apopka (the house in sanford didnt work out ) So we have to see what happens with this one, as a backup I chose another house in Sanford, near the first so I am glad to hear that if the boys have to attend this school I shouldnt have to worry.. Thank you again!
