there are tons of idiot ny-ers in orlando? wow, never knew that. i moved to lauderdale area 5 yrs ago from Long Island largely to get away from NY and all the bullsh*t and as*holes up there. unfortunately i found that lauderdale had been completely invaded by the worst form of ny-er a long time ago. even the non nyers here try and act like mafia tough guys, its so absurd. south florida is almost all nyers, ny posers, wannabes, losers and fakes and then u have the 3rd world refugees fighting to survive. i cant imagine orlando is like this??? well im moving to tampa in a few weeks, i'd rather live in NY than south florida.

What are you trying to compare? The state of New York to the state of Florida? Orlando to NYC? Or more specifically, when people here say, "I am going to the City", they are referring to Manhattan. I would guess most people from other states would equate Orlando with Disney World.

You cannot compare Manhattan with a theme park. Impossible. Apples to Oranges. Pun intended.

I don't have any problem with New Yorkers, so long's they stay down there in Miami Beach where they belong. Leave the rest of Florida alone.

Just remember a true "New Yorker" in Central Florida stands out, just as bad as a hillbilly from the Uplands of South Carolina would stand out in Brooklyn. Y'all come down hear wearing your NY Mets T-shirts and hats, big gold jewlery everywhere, gaudy cloths and thick makeup on women; go into stores and start yelling at each other from 1/2 way across the store; scream at your children, but let them run around like idiots.

Then, not only do y'all speak with these real thick accents, but you curse like sailors - even around children, are snotty to everyone that even looks your way, and think it's "cool" to talk like ghetto dwellers. When I hear some idiot with a loud booming radio from 1/4 mile away, it turns out that more often than not, if they are white, they have all kinds of New York stickers all over their POS car. The bottom line is that we southern folks preceive you as having no couth, no breeding, absolutely no respect for our culture, obnoxious about imposing your culture on us natives, having runny "talkety-talk" mouths, loose morals, and a total lack of any parenting skills.

I was born and raised in Manhattan. I think I have been to Brooklyn maybe twice in my entire life. I have also worked for some of the largest coporations in the country headquartered in Manhattan. If I ever did any of those things you say, I would have been FIRED in a hearbeat. I have spoken to people on the phone from not only all over the country, but all over the WORLD. I have never ONCE heard anyone comment on my "accent". I was raised and educated to speak the "King's English". Do you understand that?

You paint far too broad a brush. But anyway, my time in Florida will be limited. I do not intend to stay. As soon as retirement comes, I am OUT of there. Many of us are just moving there because of circumstances.

I lived in Florida many years ago. I know precisely what it is like. If I had a choice, I wouldn't go. Nobody wants to be where they are not welcome. I know from 30 years ago that Northeasterns are not welcome in the South. Perhaps that is the difference. In NYC, we welcome people not just from all over the country, but from all over the WORLD.

I guess you will never understand that. As a child growing up in Manhattan, I mingled with other children from Greece, California, Puerto Rico, China, Tennessee, Canada, Mexico, etc., etc. You will not get that experience out of a book or in school.

Why in the world would you even WANT to be with people who are just "clones" of yourself? I would not trade my childhood experiences for all the money in the world.

MIAMIMANEFOSHO is on a distinguished road
I used to live in Miami and realize that Orlando doesn't even compare to the way people are there yet, but i was just recognizing how much things have changed in Orlando since i moved here in 2000. It just keeps getting worse as far as peoples anger and rudness is concerned and we have alot more Puerto Ricans from NY than i ever remember having in Miami.....at least most of the Cubans in Miami aren't as arrogant and rude....the Cubans actually embrace this country and Puerto Ricans claim to have it so bad and just exploit our country and basically **** on our flag by not having the courtesy to put both flags up on there little smeely rearviews....they only care about themselves and ride around like they want to impress people with thier stories of war and hard times as if they lived in somalia or somthing....hey they came from NY not somolia or even Miami for that matter......i always here these New Yorkers tell stories like they came from a war zone but when i read statistics i see a totally different story....Where im from in Miami you couldn't dress like a thug unless you were ready to be tested so i never tried and New Yorkers just put thug clothes on thier babies and let them grow up thinking theyve had a hard life because the way they dressed....how can you spot a fake thug if everyone is dressed like that after birth and most dont actually experience thug life.....they are putting on a big show.....too any one who tells me different from NY......will you please just read some statistics.....yeah maybe you saw some **** but other places things like what you saw in life happen alot more so actually read and study things before you try to tell a story of how bad Brooklyn is or queens.....guess it hurts more to be shot up there than it does anywhere else in the world and a robbery is scarier with all those buildings around you.....I never said i hate the city of New York itself but just tired of all the people abroad who misrepresent it......

One last thing....this goes to HOCKEYMOM....Its not that we don't welcome people here but we just don't like people that come here and push thier ways on us and not respect what we have and what we are about down here....i guarentee that everyone that goes to NY doesn't try to change that city from what it is so why do they come here disrespecting us? Its not just a group of them its the majority of them that don't respect someone elses area.....and for all of you that say "hey we have a faster pace and dont have time to wave back or hold a door open for the person behind us" that is not right.....when traffic is fast down here in the south (fast paced) we still try to move over to the right but you NY ers just use excuses for being rude to cover up the fact that you are being heartless.....what is stopping you from being quite in the movie theatre when everyone else is quite or what is stopping you from holding open a door ?......is it really the fast pace ? or is it that you have become desensitized to being rude and don't even know you are doing what you do? .......everyone can choose what to do in each action of your life so stop blaming it on a faster past ...that is like saying hey" look at us we are faster than anyone" just for the sake of thinking you are better at everything....when in reality i know people from Ny that cant beat me in a race or fighters from NY that cant match the speed of fighters from other places ....so just live your lives unstead of living in negativity and downing us because are clubs arent open past 3 am and because we dont have some hot dog stands on our corners .....why would i want to get a hot dog from someone that looks like they molest children anyways u know...well thats all i will say unless a NY er wants to keep putting their word above anyones just to be louder or unless u have more stories without facts to tell me......bigger isnt always better and im sure that every single family from NY is only moving here because of a job or school right....please you know we have alot more than you say we do and thats why so many of you just keep flooding the south....peace

This was funny- I must admit, but what you are describing sounds like the Bronx- (NY is a big state btw).
