Thats a falasy, the streets are full of children and everyone is out in the winter enjoying the weather and snow. In addition we actually get to enjoy our summers and all the other seasons with out being a slave to the AC.

I am going to start taking pictures because I see kids and families outside all the time in my neighborhood. I have also been looking at houses in a lot of other neighborhoods in my same general area and have noticed it there too.

Do what you wish, but I actually lived there and know my streets in Waterford Lakes were empty. And my streets here are packed with people.

Waterford is the key. If all of Orlando were like Waterford, I would not like living here as much as I do now. Waterford may signify what newer areas with a large percentage of Northeastern transplants tend to be like, but it is not indicative to a lot of the other areas of town. I live in Conway and throughout a lot of areas of Dover, Belle Isle, Conway, Lake Como, Audubon Park, etc. when you get into the areas and aware from the main thoroughfares there are a lot of people out in their yards and playing in the streets. There were a few high school boys throwing a football on my street when I came home in the evening one of the nights. I was actually a little concerned for the cars parked outside but was glad to see people out enjoying the sun.

The streets are not packed with people when it is snowing outside and bitter cold. Kids maybe, but not adults. You make it sound like there is a block party every day up there.

Yeah for the first few days, then the honeymoon is over and everybody is back inside huddled around the heater with capped lips. After two or three months of relentless cold temperatures and very little sunlight, people can't wait for summer. Meanwhile I'll be in my boat pulled up on a sandy beach wearing shorts, flip flops, and sunglasses, drinking an ice cold beer, wondering what people in NJ are doing.

You must of not payed much attention when you lived here. I live in waterford lakes and spend a lot of time in Oveido, and i see kids playing outside all the time all year round, in both places. Especially in the summer when kids are out of school. I remember when i was young my next door neighbors mom wouldn't let him play outside one day because it was too cold, and his mom never kept him inside because it was too hot, and thats a true story. If someone actually surveyed my area and your area for a full year, I can pretty much assure you that more people are doing outdoor activities year round here than up north where you live. FL is known for outdoor activities.

I saw kids outside in the summer in Florida as well as in the winter in NJ. Kids don't care about hot or cold, they just want to go out and play. I have seen the argument over and over again on both the Orlando and Florida boards. Can't we just agree to disagree? Life is too short.

Yup, I can say that I'm not regretting my move to San Diego from Orlando one bit when I see what you guys have for weather, and when today is a sunny 68 degrees here.
(...and yes, you can smack me, I deserve it )

Where did I say Orlando had a beach? If you think Orlando has a beach, no wonder you didn't do well here. New Smyrna Beach is only 30 minutes away.
