School zone wise the high is Oviedo high, middle is Jackson heights, and elementary I believe Lawton. All three are excellent schools.

Plug the address here ( http://www.scps.k12.fl.us/_act/streetfind.cfm ) to confirm.

I have never lived there so I can't help on the other ones. I can tell you though, that Oviedo police is very quick to respond. Once I called 911 by mistake and hung up before it rang; they still called me back and where at my house within 3 minutes to verify that everything was OK. I called another time because I needed to file a report for a stolen identity, and they came to my house within 15 mins for this non-emergency.

I'm assuming she meant Alafaya Woods Apartments...which are generally families and very much hispanic nowadays (nothing wrong with it, unless you don't like that monotonous spanish/latino beat coming from a car stereo!).
