Does anyone know anything about St. Cloud? My husband and I and our three children are thinking of moving there...
Thanks!

Great town in my opinion. The traffic is pretty bad lately but that is the case in most towns right now. It used to have a bad reputation (hillbilly town) but with all the nice subdivisions on Canoe Creek and Narcoossee, it is getting away from that and becoming a pretty nice town especially the east-end part. You get the small town feel with all the amenities. I give it a B- and that is pretty good for Central Florida. The schools are the best in Osceola County. Good luck!

St. Cloud used to be an old Florida Cracker town. It was about as southern a place as you'd ever find around Central Florida. Now, it is rapidly turning hispanic.

What it is your point by saying "it is rapidly turning hispanic"?

I'm not from Florida but we went this past February to look at some vacant land to buy and we fell in love with Saint Cloud.

Now we are trying to buy a lot in Bay Lake Ranch to build in few years. It is on East Hwy 192 towards Melbourne on Old Melbourne Hwy. We liked that area because its feels like you are in the middle of no where but you are actually like 3-4 mins from a supermarket and Walgreens and maybe about 10-15 mins. from shopping centers. Also, Saint Cloud it is close to Disney (for me it is great).

My point is that it is! Do you dissagree? If you are hispanic then this might be a good thing. If you are not hispanic, or one of the original Florida Crackers that live around there, then this might be a bad thing. But, if someone is going to ask me to describe St. Cloud, I'd say that a rappidly chainging demographic from "Florida Cracker" to "Hispanic" might be the kind of information someone is looking for. If not, then they can be a little more specific in their request.

I'm not agree or disagree because I don't live in Florida. I will be living in Saint Cloud in 4 or 5 years. If "it is rapidly turning hispanic" as you said, then I will have the best of the worlds.

I agree with Prichard - I was in St. Cloud today at a CVS and actually took notice of the amount of Hispanic that was there and I must say it was a lot more than I expected. I don't have a problem with it because I am from Kissimmee and am very used to it, however, it may be a problem for someone who is not used to it - so I agree that it needed to be said to the original poster.

St. Cloud is a nice small town but Kissimmee has overrun it and now it is not as nice ....other small towns you might want to check out is Sanford, Mt. Dora, Eustis (I live here and love it!!), Deland, etc
