Conway
Is this a decent part of town?
What words come to mind when you hear Conway?

It is a decent area, especially the areas along Conway south of Michigan and west of Conway in the Gatlin and Pershing areas. It is a great school district area containing Shenandoah Elementary, Conway Middle, and Boone High School. Be careful about areas that may be marketed and advertised as Conway but are closer to Semoran and have school boundaries in Stonewall Jackson, Colonial High, etc. These may be branded as Conway but it is really more Edgemere and Azalea Park. Dover Shores is also a decent area.

No words come to mind, but the constant sound of overhead jets do. Obviously the closer to OIA the louder. OIA's flight paths are on either side of 436. Other than that it seems to be a pretty good area of nice older homes.

It's a great place, especially from Michigan on southward. Like the previous poster, I would stay away from Semoran Boulevard.
You can do a lot of your grocery shopping without going too far out. There is a Super Target a reasonable distance away and the Fashion Square shopping area is not too far away either. You are close enough to the attractions without being in the middle of the action. You are almost downtown, but not downtown at all. It's a wonderful side of town for me.

This is the area where we live and we are very happy here. It is a typical community of working families who take care of their homes, support their schools and ban together in times of trouble. When Hurricane Charley came through in 2004, Conway was hit bad and power was out for a week. There was a lot of property damage. People immediately began helping their neighbors, having community cook outs of the food stored in freezers, loaning out generators, removing trees and debris.
The Conway News is run by a wonderful family, and keeps Conway residents up to date with road and community developments. The coach at the local high school is our personal friend, and the school is incredible. We almost moved out of state a few years ago for several reasons, one of which involved our business, but we did not, and I cannot imagine moving away, unless it's to go to Oviedo to be near our first grandchild due 12/8.

It's a decent, generally safe working class area with generally well kept smaller homes.
