Default Grandvile Apartments in Oviedo / going to different School

I was wondering if anyone had information on the Grandville Apts in Oviedo. I have just me and my husband and 11 yr old daughter and was wondering what is the atmosphere, is it family friendly?

Also I am thinking of renting for a year before buying justto make sure I like living in Oviedo (coming from Long Island NY) and want to move to Sanctuary or Live Oak, but I know the school in the Grandville apts jurisdiction is not the schools in the Sanctuary or Live Oak district. I would hate to pull my daughter out of one school to goto another within 2 years of the move. Can I get my daughter into a different school than the one in my district (such as pay the school tax?) or is their a petition request for such a change of school?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

First try this: http://www.city-data.com/forum/orlan...udes-need.html

My brother lived there for a while. I don't recall him complaining about anything above the norm for an apartment. I do know that parking is a premium there. Every time I'd visit I would have to park far away from his apartment to get a spot without the risk of being towed.

If you're thinking about living in Live Oak or the Sanctuary, try looking at Oviedo Grove apartments. That's as close as you can live (in an apartment) to those neighborhoods and I think you'll get a good feel for the people and the area living there. I'm not sure what the cost comparison is between the two places. I was very close to living at Oviedo Grove at one time...only a job on the other side of Orlando kept me from doing it. I really liked the layout and the convenience of the location...not to mention I grew up a half mile down the road from them (used to play on the property before it was developed from an old orange grove).

There are also usually a few houses for rent in the Sanctuary, Live Oak, and neighboring Twin Rivers (on Lockwood Blvd and off of CR419/Broadway)...likely in the $1000-1400 range. Try that option too. You'll get the same lease terms as an apartment (minimum 1 year, one month rent deposit, etc.) but get the luxury of a home instead of an apartment. You can't go wrong with any of those neighborhoods.

I'll be surprised if you don't like Oviedo. It's a very transplant type of community...very rare to find an original Oviedo resident. I'm as close as they come (lived there from 5 to 27 yrs old)...and I don't live there anymore (due to the state, not the city...I wanted to grow old and retire there).
