Are you serious?

This is a very sad story, I feel for the families and friends of the victims.

I'm not sure what the person's point is or what they are trying to get across.

It was reported he was in big financial trouble.

Which started with the job loss. So in his "mind" he blamed the company for the start of his problems.

We will see more of this as the economy continues to tank and more job losses occur.

It is horrific what he did, but the losing a good paying job in a bad economy started him down this path.
.

Hey guess what, I lost my job in 2007 for over a year and had the same crap happen to me as well but somehow I managed not to go take out my former workplace and employers. Oh yeah, they say he was so destitute that he couldn't go visit his son who lived only 30 minutes away, but somehow he managed to get a gun and ammunition and make his way downtown to go blow these people away...nice...

^^^ Looks like the guy had a past too, from what I've read. Little bit of physical abuse I think; also had a mental evaluation a couple yrs or so ago. The article said that his former mother-in-law couldn't stand him.

I wonder if the building's security officers are going to look at how this could have been prevented? He obviously just walked right in. No medical detectors or little security checks? He has had brushes with the law, although not in FL. "A former resident of both Puerto Rico and New York, Rodriguez has lived in Florida since 1999. He has no criminal history in Florida, but he has had brushes with violence and the law." http://www.orlandosentinel.com/orl-jason-rodriguez-bio-orlando-shooting,0,2152879.story

I said it was horrific what he did. But there have been other work place shootings and they are tied into the shooter either being slighted or thinking they were mistreated at work.

Similar to these kids who get picked on at school at come in with a gun.

It always amazes me that people who know someone like this don't see the red flags.

This was building for awhile within him, it is shame no one noticed.

I work downtown right in the area where the shootings occurred. There was a group of us who had just walked out of our building when all the hoopla was going on. At first, we thought there must have been a bad wreck in the area. Then when we went back inside we saw what was really happening from the TV's in the building. They posted guards at all our building entrance doors.

As far as this man, apparently he was supposed to be taking drugs for his mental illness, but his insurance had run out. He had refused to see his little boy the weekend before because he said he had no food. I certainly won't minimize what he did....but I feel sorry for him because he must have been in a lot of anguish and despair. Without the medications he was supposed to be on, he just couldn't cope.

What a complete tragedy to all the people involved in this....the victims and their families and the family members of this man.

That is unfortunate, if true. Maybe this is an argument for the new health care plan? Who knows...at least he decided not to see his son the weekend before or we might have been reading about another father killing his children/family story...yes very sad for all involved...
