Well we've made the decision and are moving to Florida from PA. Any input on moving costs ? We will be moving from Scranton, PA area to Winter Springs - our house size presently is 3,000 sq. ft (not a furniture store and we are in the process of purging). I know it's less in winter but we need to get down there by start of school so let's say late July early August. Anyone else make that trip?? Tips on companies?? thanks !

I'm getting ready to move from Ohio to Florida and have spent the last 3 months looking at moving companies. I got quotes from Wheaton and Stevens - I had them come into my house and estimate it based on what I will be taking down with me. I have a 1800 sq foot house and the estimate was between 3800 and 4700. Rates are higher in June and July, but you should be okay in August. We did find a service callled upack.com - it is ABF trucking company and rates were 1/2 of what the other two were, but I will have to load and unload. upack was cheaper than the pods. We are waiting on word for my husbands transfer and for our house to sell; depending on what happens first will dictate if we use upack or someone that will load and unload for us.
