We are still looking at: city of Conway, and an triangle area between the streets of: conroy road, S apopka Vineland, the turnpike, and s. hiawassee rd. These are the two areas we liked. We did like a few still in Dr. Phillips, but they were few and far between.

We would prefer to live away from a lake. I really don't want a lot of trees, either.

We have dogs, and worry about them along with the kids.
Still looking at houses, under $400,000.

thanks,
still orlando bound, counting down
I lived in Orlando from 1995-2001 and then from 2005-2010, only saw 2 wild snakes and 2 wild gators total in the time I lived there, nothing to really worry about

When I moved to Vegas I was worried about scorpions and rattlesnakes, haven't seen on yet

Just being mindful of the possibility that you might encounter a snake or alligator. As has been mentioned, many of the snakes aren't poisonous and help keep the rodent population down.

A more common (and painful) hazard are the ants. Check your lawn over and treat the nests you find.

Remind your children to watch where they walk when they're off paved surfaces.
