I hope nobody finds my post racist but I am curious about the remaining ''white'' residents of Pine Hills. I know up untill the 1980's it was predominately white untill large amounts of non-whites moved in. According to Wikipedia,if Wikipedia is to be trusted, there are still up in the twenty percentile amount of white residents. Is this true? Is their racial tension? Do the white residents get along with the non-whites and vice versa?

I lived in Pine Hills growing up. I lived on Powers Drive, went to all the schools around there Ridgewood Elem, Medowbrook Middle, Evans High. I lived in that area since I was 5yrs old and moved out of that area when I was 23yrs old. I am white, there was alot of white families and white kids that went to school there, you also had black families and black children going to those schools, it wasn't just all black families in that area.

I would say now most of Pine Hills is black people alot of them are coming from the Islands. I know there is alot of Haitian, Jamican people that live there now. There problay is still white families that live there, but I would really say that Pine Hills is mostly black people, the same with the Rosemont area.

It is now full of crime and a bad place to live. That's why they call it Crime Hills, years ago we thought it was bad, which it was, but not as bad as it has got, it is got runned down looking now, looks very trashy that area.

Pine Hills used to be nice. im 22 yrs old. It is pretty much classified as the ghetto of Orlando which EVERY city has one or at least some undesirable part of town. Like someone said earlier, it is very run down and not kept up with. The crime is pretty bad in that area. Most Orlando residents know to pretty much stay away from that area.

Yeah Pine Hills is a really rough area, just drive down Colonial near Silver Star or along Pine Hills Road....It is awful...Crime is high there, I moved from Detroit to Pine Hills....I stayed there for about 2 years because of financial problems but once I had the means to get out I was gone in a heartbeat....Don't even think about moving or living in this area of Orlando.

Not a good area. Don't be fooled by any house being a pool home. A lot of houses have pools, even those in crappy areas.

I was looking for a house in the same neighborhood. How bad is that area really is? Is that area consider Pine Hills? Maybe we all good people should move there and start doing some small change like neigborhood watch or something. It's got to start somewhere, right?
