i think it has to do with the human body not where you are from....i could be from Canada but after living in Florida for a couple years you would get used to it and the human body would just adapt to its surroundings, but at the same time in your mind you would know how much colder it could actually be even though you now think it might be cold as hell when u get used to things after you moved

I am originally from NE Ohio and live here again. I lived in Daytona for a while, and my Grandma always said your blood thins living in Florida. I went home (OHIO) for Christmas and was never warm for the 13 days I was back up there. I wore a sweatshirt with something under it and sweats to sleep in. I never got warm. I returned home to FLA and found that during Speedweeks, people were bathing in the ocean and I was wearing a coat and running the heat in my car. Guess Grandma was right. My wife's cousin has lived in Orlando for the last 23 years, also from NE Ohio, and she starts her car on those cold 55 degree mornings. WOW do I long for those days, come on economy, time for a resurgence, I'm cold up here!

This happens to me in the Summer (everywhere), I've been cold in Orlando on a few nights after rain/thunderstorms occur, the same thing happens to me in NYC, both Orlando & NYC stay in the 70's (sometimes 60's & 80's too) at night in the Summer so I'm mostly borderline cold at night. I've never been there in the Winter though.

I'm not a transplant (yet) but Orlando can get cold for me sometimes.

I had my winter coat on over my PJ's when I walked the dogs an hour ago, and they definitely did their business as fast as they could.

Orlando doesnt get into the 60's at night in the summer. In fact, it's usually in the mid to high 70's at night and very humid in the summer months.

Animals adjust to the temperature just like people I think. My mother moved down here a year ago along with her cats. They are not allowed outside but one of them is quite an escape artist and will often manage to get out, usually when groceries or other big loads are being brought into her apartment. When he does get out every month or so, he will refuse to come back for at least two hours, usually five or six.

The other night he managed to get past me while I was bringing my Mom some groceries; he ran out not quite to the end of the porch, then did a 180 degree turn and ran back inside.

There is something strange about the cold here, in the mid-40's the cold hits your bones and gets really uncomfortable the colder it gets. However, I was in New York City about three years ago in a period a time when temperatures were never warmer than 30 degrees, and the 20's and lower 30's were not as bad as the low to mid 40's in the Orlando area. Odd.
