Sunrail finally passes the senate. Maybe this will lead to more jobs. Railroad jobs tend to pay very well.

$1.2 billion. If Miami's Tri-Rail is any indication, this should be a fantastic use of our tax dollars.

Altho it's no use to me going to and from work it will be a great benefit for others.
It's really needed to relive some of the congestion.

Its not going to effect me either since I'm over 10 miles east of Orlando, far away from the train tracks where they would be putting this rail system, which run north and south from downtown Orlando (for the people who don't know). But there is definitely more people traveling north and south on I-4 daily than there is traveling east and west on the 408, so i think it will be great for metro Orlando. If it goes well maybe they will eventually build a light rail going east and west along the 408.

A lot of tax dollars being used to benefit a very small segment of population--many of whom have already stated they wouldn't use it. I'm not at all happy with it. It would have been more beneficial to invest in expanding LYNX to serve all of central Florida and funding them to purchase the new hybrid buses that are far greener than any rail system.

I look at it this way...with SunRail we will finally have another option for people flying to MCO besides renting a car or taking a taxi to the convention center or I-drive attractions. They will now be able to take light rail directly there. I think this will be a huge plus in wooing shows to our convention center. This will fuel our tourism business as well. People not on the Disney Magic Express or whatever it is called can take light rail to the I-drive area, and then use hotel transportation to Sea World, Universal, or take the new I-Drive Circulator to those attractions or the outlet mall. Nobody is playing up this angle, but I think if they build the right rail infrastructure people can fly here and vacation without the need of a car entirely. Is this not a valid point?
