There are so many statements in the above post that I take issue with I don't know where to start. Why do people make such broad generalizations? People in Orlando are Not smart at all.?!?!

I'll just address one mistatement, most of the rest is a matter of opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs.

"Spanish is the dominant language in Orlando" - All you have to do is look at the demographics. Orlando is 17.48% Hispanic. The facts speak for themselves.

The road rage here is INSANE. I've driven through DC, NYC, and Boston and it doiesn't come close to being as bad as Orlando. There is no history or culture here and the city is SO spread out and traffic is bad for a city of 200,000 people. May-Oct is brutally hot...you'll feel like you're living on the sun and so bright. the people are not welcoming overall and unhelpful when asking for directions. People that have lived here for years give horrible directions. Not smart at all. On the positive note the fall and winter temps are nice, every type of chain is here, and shops stay open pretty late, downtown looks nice, and a lot of the women here are attractive. Foe someone relocating to Florida I'd recommend Tampa/St.Pete area. There seem to be more down-to-earth people, more Midwest transplants, and people still speak English!
Is this post a joke or what??? "People that have lived herer for years give horrible directions", and Boston "doiesn't" come close to being as bad as Orlando? WHAT, and Spanish and Mexian people speaking "loud and fast", and "the woman are attractive there. I guess you have in one post succeeded to insult about 1/2 the people in the US-women, hispanics, Floridians etc etc. Nice.

I left Orlando in Nov 2005 after living there for 15 years. I left not just Florida, but the entire USA, as the country is in serious decline. I lived in an upscale neighborhood in Lake Mary off of Markham Woods Road. Just before I left America, even in the nice areas where I lived, it was getting bad. Everywhere, and I mean everywhere, there is nothing but hispanics. Sure, city-data.com stats say there isn't that many hispanics in Orlando - but maybe they do not count illegal immigrants. Traffic in Orlando is very poor. There is one main artery for the whole city (I-4). there are other roads also but the main north south one is I4. It cannot handle the vast volumes of traffic and is always jammed. The east of Orlando looks like a third world country. There is a lot of urban decay not so many miles away from Waterford lakes. I am glad I am out of Orlando.

Thumbs down Hey nomoresubways

I find that you would think Roger Cobb is a chrisitian because of his crazy views very offensive. Why would you call someone who is obviously a jokester trying to incite people with biggotted views and a narrow mind anything like a christian?? You sound like a fundamentalist yourself what religion I dare not guess!!

Bubblicious, it has nothing to do with being religious. If you've paid attention to any of these forums, Christian11 has written several posts that have infuriated many of us here.

Wink so sorry

Sorry I didnt catch that you were referring to him actually being christian11. I thought you were saying he was a christian talking that way pleaz excuse my mistake, I have grown up in Orlando and I do think it has changed in the last 10- years it has gone a bit down hill but we have enjoyed for many years what other States have never had low crime and easy living - so now we have some issues - but I have not seen this gang and crime activity - but the parts of town they talk about I would not live in. In every State in every city there are bad parts of town - you cant name a place this is not so dont shop in Pine Hills - but the Waterford Town Center is perfectly safe!! I would and do shop there night and day!!

Randman..
If Disney hires you, look at Oakland (outside Winter Garden) if you want a choice of something that has both subdivision living and non subdivision living. You can get down to disney via backroads in 20 minutes and depending on the schools.. there are some nice Christian schools if you dont' want catholic or public. West Orange High isn't so hot so you'd want to consider private.

Otherwise Windemere is really nice too.
