I would abslutely give them gas and toll money PLUS a gift (a giftcard to a restaurant for example) for doing me a favor like that.

That's not like asking my neighbor to give me a ride a couple miles up the road to pick up my car from the repair shop. That's the type of thing you do for a neighbor. But a 90 minute to two hour r/t to the airport? Big difference.
Repair shop OK, bike tire went flat, call me I'll get you. Anything non reoccurring like 5-6 trips to the airport annually to save the neighbor money from parking, not so much.

If our dog sitter is busy and we call a neighbor to let them out in our fenced yard for a few minutes then we leave a bottle of wine for them in appreciation since we are not paying the usual dog sitter his fee.

I believe in fairness not abuse of neighborliness.

We recently parked at Executive Parking of Port Canaveral. We paid $6.99 per day. We give this parking facility five stars for their excellent personal service. They even called us the day of arrival letting us know our embarkation was on schedule and to make sure we were clear on the directions to their facility. We were met by a friendly staff, filled out some paper work and within just a few minutes we were on our way to our cruise ship. On our way the driver made sure we under stood to call 30 minutes prior to pick up and made it very clear on where we needed to be for the pickup point. Upon arrival back to Port Canaveral the same driver Rich picked us up as he promised on drop off and we were on our way home. A truely stress free experience.

Depending on how many days your cruise is, it might just be economical to do a cab/shuttle/car service.
