We are moving to the Orlando area in the next few weeks. We're not sure which area yet, but based on internet research are thinking of Lake Mary, Heathrow, Winter Springs, Winter Park or Longwood. We're looking for a house in the 500-750K range. (we will be in corporate housing for awhile while our house here in Seattle sells).

My son will be 4 in August, so I guess he will go into a pre-K program, and I would love recommendations for great ones.Because he was a preemie and is smaller in size, I do want him to do two more years of preschool before going to Kindergarden, so it would be great if anyone has any suggestions on how to handle that. I'm looking for a great preschool that can challenge, but not overwhelm him and is focused on lots of fun--but NOT a daycare environment at all. He's very bright, has been reading well for more than a year, but is probably on the more immature side.

Also, he's in a fabulous Spanish program now, so I would love to continue that if anyone has suggestions?

Kids Together in Lake Mary is great! FL in general doesn't have the BEST childcare, but this is the closest they will ever have. It is worth to take a look into it!

In Winter Springs we took our child to a small place called Kinder Kampus off of 434. The lady who owns it is an ex-Kindegarten teacher and the staff is excellent and stable. They teach the Abecca curriculum which mixes in a very small bit of religion with it's teaching. I don't know if that bothers you or not, but it's a widely used curriculum in daycares. It is a small daycare, but the rates are VERY inexpensive for the quality of care (was $110 a month when we left a couple months ago).

The place is a little gem and especially if you end up in Winter Springs I'd recommend checking it out and save yourself a lot of running around. My wife fell in love with the place from the moment she went in and our child was VERY happy there. I guess a good testament is that most of the kids are the children of Seminole County teachers which is a pretty good endorsement....

Good Luck..
