I was wondering, are there any plans to replace the aging Westinghouse C-100 vehicles on the automated people mover at the Orlando International Airport? I think these vehicles are over 20 years old, and should be replaced soon.

The Bombardier CX-100 is an easy upgrade, as it is capable of using most of the C-100's infrastructre. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport replaced their original C-100 vehicles in 2002 with the CX-100.

What's wrong with them? They work fine...in fact, I don't think I've ever seen them down before in the hundreds of times I've been to MCO and/or used them. They ride smooth and fast.

No sense in spending money just because something is old. They get the job done well...heck, they even speak spanish.

The newer Bombardier looks dated and ugly compared to what we have so why go to an uglier system that does nothing more than move people a couple 1000 feet?

Are you a Bombardier sales person?

Are you going to go aft4er the monorail at Disney? its almost 40 years old and is still on the edge and moves a ton of people. Its a shame we don't have that as our mass transit system. I'd much rather get to the mall that way than on I-4

No, I am not a Bombardier salesperson. And actually, the CX-100 is available with different endcap options, including the exact same endcaps that MCO's C-100 vehicles feature.

After all, ATL upgraded to the CX-100, so why can't MCO upgrade?

I think Orlando has a few other priorities than replacing something that ain't broke (crime, unemployment, mass transit, you know, trivial things like that)
