I remember McNamara when was still open. I remember the Western Way shopping center as well...talk about ghetto, used to drive by it on my way to Pine Hills to hang out with friends (non criminals). I know the hot dog stand on East Colonial and Ferncreek as well. That's in the corner of that Chevron property. Those guys charge SO much for gas

C'mon Davie...

Pine Hills is not a great area. But that does not mean that you have to preface visiting the area, by stating you were visiting "non-criminals". Not all of Pine Hills residents are criminals, in fact it could proven that the vast majority of the residents are not criminals.

You are better than that, you seem like a stand up guy. I mean that seriously.

Pine Hills is not as bad as people think. I lived there myself from 2000-2001, long time ago but still, I have seen worse. I'd take Pine Hills over Parramore anyway. Then again out here in Vegas there are some areas that make Parramore look like Winter Park

I said non criminals because I'm sure SOMEBODY would have an ignorant comment to say. My two best friends in Orlando both live in bad areas but are great people and the LAST thing on their mind is robbing somebody or jacking a car. We always just hung out and had a good time

I knew I was right about you...

Don't worry about potential ignorant comments, they will come no matter what...

I cant stand ignorance sometimes. Though we are all guilty of it at one time or another. My friends and I did some pretty dumb stuff though we always had a good laugh from it, but nothing that would get us arrested and have people here on CD or anywhere else label us as "more hoods from Pine Hills"

I knew more "hoods" living in Hunter's Creek, Meadow Woods, and Southchase then I did in Pine Hills and Azalea Park. Those guys were wannabes though but they looked intimidating enough for me to avoid them. Something I will say about people in Pine Hills, they are down to earth, they are real with you, if they have something on their mind they will say it. I not once saw that in South Orlando. Its a great place to live but sometimes it seems like they are all phonies

Thank you! You are so right! Who is anybody to judge entire neighborhoods of people. I hope the people who do that, know that there is plenty of illegal activity going on behind closed doors in every neighborhood. The nicer the neighborhood, the higher level the drug dealers are. If someone gets killed on the street in Pine Hills, there's a good chance the hit was ordered by someone in Hunters Creek or a similar neighborhood. By the way, I love the retro pics also!

I miss Hot Dog Heaven the most

That made me laugh, picturing a crime boss living in Hunter's Creek. ITs really not a laughing matter but still....

We have a place here in Las vegas called Summerlin (reminds me of the street in Downtown Orlando) which is mainly upper middle and upper class people like Hunters Creek, Dr Phillips, Metrowest, and Bay Hill. And they were discussing on TV one day that a lot of high level drug dealers live there, and that there is more domestic violence there than anywhere else in Vegas.

It kinda shocked me because Summerlin (like HC and Dr Phillips) is a place where a Mercedes, BMW, and Audis are as commonplace as an Altima, or Camry in a middle class area, so it made me wonder waht kind of stuff went on in Hunters Creek since I lived there up until I moved to Vegas
