You are wrong. Plenty of teens open a first credit card at 18 and have that plus a car loan by 20, with a high 700's credit score. When you apply for credit, your age isn't taken into consideration. As I said before, 700 isn't a very high credit score--do what you can to boost it into the mid to upper 700's.

Most of the banks and dealers did say that my income was too low to make a purchase on a car until I got with the Publix Employees Federal Credit Union. They were willing to loan me up to $16k for a car! I didnt take full advantage and bought an $8k car instead and got something that I could afford

I'm sure there are still many people buying new homes and new cars even in this recession which seems like it will NEVER end.

I guess its just to easy to believe the negative, when we hear that almost NOBODY is buying a new car or house right now, or spending any money at all for that matter. We know its not true but its easy to believe.

The fact is, the parking lot at the Florida Mall is still pretty packed, The theme parks are still packed, and International Drive is still solid gridlock on Firday and Saturday nights, people are still buying $300+ a week in groceries, buying Apple I-Pads, I-Phones, I-Touches, I-somethings. Perhaps people are spending smarter and more frugally. Combine that with Orlando's near 12% unemployment rate, and it DOES hurt business. it just doenst seem like it

Getting back on topic, I dont think there will be any controlled burns anytime soon with all this rain. -__- I'd rather have a sunny smoky day then a dark, cold, and rainy day.
they already have had controlled burns this year. They are expecting a harsh drought this year because it is an el niño winter. The last big El niño winter was 1998 when we had all of those wild fires. El ninos usually cause wet januarys and feburarys followed by very dry march and aprils. It only takes about a week of dry air for the fire threat to go way up.

I remember that year, that was a pretty bad year for fires in Florida. Sometimes its just dry weather in general, it doesnt have to be an el Nino winter.

Remember the Bugaboo Fire back in 2007 that was burning in Florida and Georgia? That wasn't an El Nino winter if Im not mistaken? A lot of fires are just set by idiots or people who have fascination with fire

I remember back in 2004 or somewhere around there, they had a fire in Arizona that burned over 500,000 acres, and it was set by a firefighter who said there was a lack of work lately.

yes the wild fire risk is always high from march-may but the risk is even higher in el niño years
