I'd like to start this thread by saying I am NOT against religion. I do believe children should be taught good values, but I do have a problem with the "moral majority" that orlando seems to have.

A lot of people here seem to put up a front that they're a good christian, when in fact they are not. A majority of people I know who are "god fearing" have some serious vices or addictions, whether it be gambling, porno, alcohol, etc.

I haven't been to Las Vegas but locals there have told me that vegas has a libertarian attitude, a "live and let live" point of view. I share those same values and it is one of the things that draws me to las vegas

Once again I am not against religion or good values but i dont like the fact that people here are so closed off and so easy to offend and so quick to complain about the most trivial things.

I think people would be a lot less uptight if they were more open minded. This seems to be a problem in orlando, does anybody else notice this or is it just me

Which "moral majority" are you referring to ? I have been here since 1987 and have not noticed it to be any different from other areas of the US.

Here's the secret: Christians are not perfect. When we get saved, we don't magically become sinless people. Although we should strive to improve our behaviors (which I do feel we need to do more of), we will still experience temptation, and we won't be able to resist each one all the time.

By the way, your post could be interpreted as being closed off and willing to complain about the most trivial things as well.

My post was not meant to be a complaint but just a mere statement of opinion

If you notice that in Orlando, you sure don't want to see how things are in north Georgia.

Maybe Orlando would be a better place if itwere more like Northern GA. I had a woman in my subdivision whom I just met yesterday for the first time say something to me that was kind of sad in a way. I saw her and being friendly I said "hello" to her. I didnt really think anything of it, but Orlando isnt known to have the most friendly people. So I said "hello" to her and can you believe what she said to me? She said, "I cant believe it. You are one of the only people to ever say hi to me in the 6 months I've been here. Everyone is so unfriendly here." It's not like that in NGA. Give me moral anyday, and I'd be happy. Sounds so strange, someone talking about this (moral majority) as if it's a problem. (No offense DavieJ89).

I don't know who you are or who you hang around with, but I've never found this at all in Orlando. In fact, I love the friendliness and tolerance of the people here. They're happy people too. coming from the uppermidwest, I find this refreshing and exhilirating.

No offense taken Com, its all good. Its your opinion and I respect it

I don't have a problem with the moral majority itself. I don't think people here are unfriendly at all. Some can be, but there is way more love then hate in not just this city but I think in the whole world

My issue with the moral majority is a lot of people use it as a front for certain issues they want to cover up for fear of being judged by others (ie, drinking, gambling, porno, and the like) Orlando IMO is a pretty friendly city, but it is too damn judgemental...once again IMO

I myself am a naturally friendly guy and Im from Connecticut (People there are so rude, it makes Orlando look like Asheville, NC ComSense lol) If I am out walking the streets if I make eye contact with somebody I will smile and say hello, and most often times people will smile right back and say hello, we may even stop and talk (rare but it happens)

My problem is I think we need to stop judging others on their weaknesses and vices, and judge them on their overall character as a person
