Considering a move to WG just wondering how the recent housing collapse has affected the area?

I live on the opposite side of town but I can give you an educated guess as to how it has affected Winter Garden

During the housing boom, the population of Winter Garden has nearly doubled, lots of brand new homes everywhere, so I would imagine there is a lot of foreclosures

The area around Daniels road is really nice, near The Grove Shopping Center, lots of newer VERY NICE homes there, if I were to move to Winter Garden it would be in that area

Tildenville Elementary has a lot of low income students.

Winter Garden wasn't hit as hard by foreclosures as other areas of Orlando (Hunters Creek and Waterford lakes for example), as much of it was long established before the bubble.

All the new parts of WG are experiencing the same foreclosure problems as all the new areas of the rest of central Florida, nobody was immune in new neighborhoods. All the same greedy investors running up the market, now we pay the price.

We have a house south of 50/Colonial that we are thinking of putting back up for sale, since our renters don't want to buy.

Since I have been battling bank-owned foreclosed houses for 2 years I would say the housing collapse was very bad in WG, either that or it was almost nuclear in other areas of Orlando. Its been bad, it still is.
