My husband and I plan to retire to Florida someday, but that is about 15 to 20 yrs away for us. However my dad is retiring this summer and my parents are not in the best financial position so we want to buy a condo for them to live in. I contacted a realtor and he said he can't advise me on neighborhoods! I am in Mass and my parents are in NJ. I have no idea where to start. We want somewhere near orlando up to 15 miles away or so. I just need safe and comfortable and our budget is up to 65K. We are looking for a 2 bedroom. Is this a pipe dream?
I am reading about HOA's falling apart. How can you find out about that?
I really want to help my parents but can't afford to make a bad investment.

any advice would be appreciated
Jamie
