Question Moving to Orlando?????

Hi Everyone I'm considering moving into a new condo right near the Mall of the Millenia. I've visited the area a few times as a tourist but am unsure about living there. I am married with three kids, how is the area in general. Such as the schools, crime and overall quality of life in that particular section of Orlando. Should I buy there or look elsewhere. I have several good job offers around Orlando so I am in no way committed to one section. Just not interested in commuting. Thanks for your help.

Just buy right. The Centex townhomes have one of their inventory 3 bedrooms with plenty of upgrades for $234k. That's $60k less than it was about 7 months ago. This was yesterday (6/3/07). I live here in the apartments. Lots of med students in the Centex and Morrison communities. Overall, it seems to be fine.

Stay away from Mosaic. Conversions are not a good idea, plus they started renting again which will lower your value and bring in some of Orlando's finest "4 adults, 6 kids to a two bedroom" scenarios.

As far as schools and such, I really don't know. The only thing I don't like about the area is that outside of the Super Target, your other needs (dry cleaners, drug stores, gas stations etc.), get a wee bit "rough". My wife won't get gas by herself over here.

The tiny, tiny area of Millenia is ok, but a block in any direction makes a world of change.

Good luck!

Hey thanks so much for the input, I have also received offers for work in Cape Coral and Port St Lucie. Unfortunately I know nothing about those areas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

They have it for Miami, so I wonder if they will do it for Orlando too is Google Maps has this new tool called street view where you zoom all the way down to street level and there is a little gold man character and he is ur navigator and all the streets in blue are navigational where it pulls up a screen and u can see shots of the street you are walking down, not live of course. Its pretty interesting. I just noticed they had it. Right now they have it for Miami, NYC, Denver, Las Vegas, and SF. Maybe Orlando will get it too.

Just go to google maps and if the city has a camera next to it, it has street view.
