Rich_CD is on a distinguished road
Default Hotel opionion...

Any of these *bad* places to stay:

Homestead Studio Suites
302 Northlake Blvd.
Altamonte Springs, FL

Extended StayAmerica
1760 Pembrook Drive
Orlando, FL

Extended Stay Deluxe
1776 Pembrook Drive
Orlando, FL

Extended Stay Deluxe
1951 Summit Tower Blvd
Orlando, FL

BTW: This NG was right on the money about "Lee Road". It had what appeared to be *bad* elements hanging around in the middle of the day.

The three off of Maitland Blvd. are probably ok. That's a business district near Summit Tower and the Maitland center. The one in Altamonte might be ok too, but it is a little more congested in Altamonte, probably a little noisier also. It's a fairly quick drive to downtown Orlando, even in traffic, from Maitland Blvd. There's not much to do over there, it's mostly business parks and residential.

Totally agree with Prichard. I would add to definatly stay away from the one in Altamonte. It is right off of 1-4 and does not have a good reputation. And yes, Lee Road is the pitts!

Have you been to this area recently? There are many apartments/condos amid the Cranes Roost Park area. You can walk around the lake, get something to eat, see a movie, or shop. We have been walking there at night and it's been very pleasant.

I didn't say stay away from the one in Altamonte - like you said, it has it's benefits. However, it will be quite a bit noisier, as I believe this extended stay is right off of I-4 and right near 436. This is one of the busiest areas in Greator Orlando.

I lived right off Cranes Roost for awhile and actually got married there Altamonte is not a "bad" area however, the post was about a particular hotel and the Homestead Suites are known for drug and prostitute activity.
