We need a safe young family area. Schools are the number 1 importance on my list. tie for number 2 is crime, location and taxes.

So far it looks like bearlake area is nice. the elem. school gets good ratings and the houses around the lake look nice. any1 have any other nice places we should look.

dh 30, me 29, ds 5, ds 1. $150,000 or less. In or within a short commute to Apopka.

thanks in advance!

Bear Lake is good area but somewhat unique but not in any bad sense. Bear Lake is a rural oasis in the middle of surburban Central FL. Most of the homes in this area are on larger wooded lots. Immediately surrounding Bear Lake are your typical manicured lawns surburban strip malls and subdivisions. The schools there are good and the commute would be minimal to Apopka. You may want to also look at other areas of Altamonte Springs and the Wekiva area.

I would look at Forest City Elementary and Wekiva Elementary also.

Just north of 436 around Lake Brantley.

Prices are a lot higher, but some foreclosures and short sales can be had for a good price.
