If you had ever seen the Lake Eola fountain without the water running, you will know it looked like a complete dump. The paint was falling off, the green shell was discolored and damaged...it really was awful. Well, now the fountain refurbishment is almost complete, and I urge you to go and take a look before they turn the water back on. The green color is deep and shiny, the brown painted areas now look great, and they have installed some other features around the bottom that I can't identify. Can't wait to see it running!

The other major change in the park has already been implemented. You can now hear soft piano music playing throughout the entire park walkway. It's really nice and I believe makes the park more enjoyable. Having a sound system will also make events like the 4th of July even better.

Ha ha, this is awesome now. It won't be so odd going down there now. Speaking of which Lake Eola was a MAIN reason for me going downtown before but when lightning struck the fountain it did look pretty bad!

Pete after my run I stood by the lake shore to try to figure this out. I think they are additional lighting elements t light up the skirt of water that flows back into the lake. Should look pretty cool, can't wait to see it.

Yeah, I was guessing it might be lighting. That would be really cool if that were true.
