Of course after Cap n' Trade we'll see prices on gas go up, can't imagine the gulf spill helping that situation either.

If living close to work is your recommendation you should consider that according to the poorly worded original post, one is working in Leesburg, the other in WP/ORL. Therefore they are looking for places that would enable them to split the commute instead of one taking the full brunt. One person driving 50 miles equates to the same amount of gas (unless one drives a prius & the other a tank) as 2 people, sharing the load, and driving 25 miles each. If they both worked in WP/ORL then yes Baldwin Park all the way for many reasons. Otherwise our suggestions of edge suburbs like Clermont and Apopka allow them to still live close to things like restaurants & retail thus saving on gas to get to those things, while sharing an equal commute to their respective work locations of Leesburg & Winter Park.

I'm really surprised that the OP hasn't attempted to clarify any of this situation or guide their thread for better answers.

I just drove 46 to 441 from Sanford to Leesburg today.

Pro's, it's a scenic and not overly nerve wracking drive
Con's it's only one lane through a lot of it, and if you get behind a slower moving vehicle, it's going to take over an hour.

In the Mt Dora area there are a lot of shopping plazas and restaurants. Between Mt Plymouth and Mt Dora there are also a lot of newer upscale communities and some apartmetns that looked decent.

That area would put you a little closer to Leesburg, but still a manageable commute to Orlando. (Keeping in mind that Orlando is pretty sread out, and it depends on exactly where the person is traveling to.)

I'd say Mount Dora would be your best option. They have some really nice communities on the outskirts. One of them is Stoney Brooks I believe that is the name. Hwy 50 out of Clermont into Orlando area is a nightmare. Contact a realtor in Mount Dora, they can give you the names of the communities around there. I think another one is called Veranda homes. Zellwood is just a little dump of a town. So is much of Apopka.
