I seem to remember the Izusu I-mark with the diesel engine being a good small car for the time.
I have this vague memory of a sporty I-Mark that seemed high on horsepower for the time much in the way the Impulse was.
Also for Isuzu the Amigo was a cool truck (if you can call it a truck). The Rodeo was solid along with the P'up. For a short window I seem to recall they were a decent brand in the US.
I had a 1996 Isuzu Impulse and traded it in for a 1991 Isuzu Stylus XS. Loved the impulse and I wore it out on my frequent trips south to Alabama from Philly. The Stylus XS, although sporty and quick for it's size was terrible when not on dry ground. Not too long after I bought it Isuzu stopped making it. I still see it tooling around in Philly.
I swore after I graduated college I'd own a VehiCROSS (back in 2004). Not sure why I ended up getting a '02 Passat instead, but still love seeing them on the road every once in a blue moon. Today I would take a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited instead.
My dad bought a brand new 1988 Trooper II that I served him well for 5 years. Wasn't many SUVs back in those days, so I thought it was the bomb.
