What's there to like? The wheels? The pumpkin shape? The boring nose and headlamps? There's a difference between quirky and attractive. I give the 500L a quirky two thumbs down.
Fiat should go back to the direction they had in the 90's and early 2000's like this coupe:
It's a preference. I love my "ugly." Fiat 500L. It's super comfy, roomy & very economical. I've had it since August & waited 18mo for it to get, yup I planned to get my "ugly" car. It's all about individuality, you don't have to like what I do. A good example Z3 coupes are not attractive to me, I love my Z3 roadster tho.
I live in SW WA, this lil car is hands down best I've ever driven in the rain, handles impressively well.

LOL, have to admit that is a nice looking car. Why do I like it? Pretty much all of the above. Ugly it is not, more utilitarian for my around the town and elder care needs.

I hope that someone in Fiat's R&D team gets on here to read our feed backs. I know if I were a designer I would. I like Fiats, especially the 60's versions. I was happy to see them finally make the move to the US markets. I like most of their designs, although most are without much character. But the four door 500L is out of proportion, giving it a pumpkin on wheels look. I hope that with time, Fiat will reconsider this design for a more "car-like" design. When BMW decided to do the 4 door mini, they kept the overall dimensions of the car in line with the rest of their product, they didn't try to accomodate 6'6" tall folks by adding two feet to their roof line. That seems to be what Fiat did, maybe they were having complaints about head room? I don't know. I'll get on their corporate site and research why they felt the need to distort their vehicle so much.
I'm not trying to put down a car that someone owns. We all have our own tastes. But let's be frank, when Pontiac came out with the Aztek, do you think that maybe Pontiac could have benefited from some consumer feedback before releasing that Frankenstein?

I like that Fiat model too. I'd consider one if I were in the car market right now (oh, and I looked at all your dog photos too - cute poochies! ).
