Thank God I am not a mother of a teen girl today. Can you imagine the fights?

It's ashame...the girls just want to grow up but they have no idea what being an adult entails. Kids should stay kids longer. I think they will regret it later.

Good one, Miss LaceyEx!

When I was still teaching, it was hard dealing with the HS girls and the thongs and bras, and then I retired, and do some substituting from time to time -- and was even more shocked at the apparel of the middle-school aged girls, and younger!

Glad my kids are grown because there is NO WAY my daughter would be going out of the house dressed the way some do today.

Pre-teens here have to wear a uniform to school and while any kid (maybe some parents too) reading this would throw bricks at me, I'm glad they do. Now they start getting around 17 or so when they're not under the eagle eye of mom and dad all the time, watch out because a lot do dress inappropriately or at least IMO. There is also a curfew; 9PM and under 18 they're supposed to be at home.

All I know is that in looking back when I was considered a "rebel" because I'd wear blue jeans instead of dresses and put on a bit of make up either in the car or bus (before I got a car), is pretty darn tame compared to nowadays. Is a shame that when young to one extent or another most kids were in such a hurry to grow up and 'be free' - then we grow up and realize it was pretty darn nice being a kid.

And the many Mothers (maybe some Dads) who allow this and maybe sometimes even encourage this!!! Perhaps some of the clothing designers and manufacturers should also share in the problem. Let children be children, don't push it so fast and so far.

Parents really need to set a better example and teach their children the dangers of this type of behaviour. Too many weirdos out there who take advantage of children. As you may have deduced, this is a topic that, well, is so sad and it does remind me of certain little girls who participate in the so-called fashion shows.

I agree...and I can't stand young girls wearing those stretch/sweatpant looking things with the words "Juicy" or something as equally disgusting across the backside. Looks like they're advertising which is something I don't think is appropriate at all!
