Babble

We survived last night, but the people up north got hammered. One county is basically under water after receiving 7 inches of rain. We got maybe an inch, but the ground is saturated so even that much is not good. Nice day today. Once the cool front moved through it turned out nice. We opened all the windows and have a nice breeze coming through. They haven't been open for over a month.

Company coming in Friday morning and the house is almost ready. I cleaned screens, Febrezed furniture, and Lysoled (aerosol) the basement today. I'm waiting for Robo Mop to charge up so I can run it in the kitchen. So much for that "extended life" battery I bought!

Mrs. Tek had to travel today, but she's off until Monday. No rest for the weary, though, since we'll be entertaining after we finish cleaning and cooking. I clean, she cooks. The opposite would be a culinary nightmare.

Looks like I won't be completely retired for awhile. I have two clients wanting work done, and one of them probably won't be until late July. It's good money, but Mrs. Tek keeps giving me the ooshka ooshka look when I accept the work.

Everyone have a great evening!

Today's Question(s):

Is there a product(s) you like so much you could star in a commercial about it (them)?

Now, that's a very intriguing question, Karla. There's a fair number of products that I like, and there are a few that I am just head-over-heels in love with. But do I love any of them enough to be willing to tout them on camera? Hmmm. I'm not sure that I do.

But then, that's more a reflection of my hatred of being photographed by anyone for any reason than it is an indication of my opinion of the products I like. I'm not sure you could pay me enough to appear on camera - and I am COMPLETELY sure that nobody would want to pay me to be a spokesperson.

Bonus Question:

When was the last time you wanted to yell "run/hide !! here comes
the political campaigners"?

We don't get very many of those in our neighborhood, likely because it's not a fancy one, so they can't expect to get many donations. But I still hate to see them come to the door.

Have you ever pretended not to be home when someone rang your doorbell?

Ah, you see, that's where it comes in handy not to HAVE a doorbell!

Extra Credit Question:

Lets talk about typing

Do you use:
Touch typing?
This one.
Have to look at the keys?
All your fingers?
Just a few?

Did you learn to type:
In school?
This one, during the summer between 7th and 8th grades.
Self--taught?
On a real typewriter?
Oh, it was a real typewriter, alright, and about 500 pounds. I hated that thing. I could never get more than about 35 WPM on those old monsters. I'm about twice as fast on a computer.
A computer?

Just for fun:

Have you ever "Yo- Yo'd"?

Ha! Let's just say that I've attempted it a time or two. Succeeded, not so much.

Can you do any of the fancy Yo-Yo tricks?

Well, if you count giving myself a black eye with the darn thing a fancy trick, then yes.

Today's Question(s):

Is there a product(s) you like so much you could star in a commercial about it (them) ?

Hmm, don't know, really. Though I'd definitely love to get to drive a nice Corvette!

Bonus Question:

When was the last time you wanted to yell "run/hide !! here comes _______" ?

At my
work, we have this one department manager who likes to circle around like a vulture to make sure we're working and not messing around, as we are want to do (when not helping customers, of course). So one of my coworker friends and I will flap our arms like birds and yell "kaw-kaw! kaw-kaw!" every time we see her come around. Usually there are no other customers around when we do this, so that they won't think we're a bunch of loons. Usually.

Have you ever pretended not to be home when someone rang your doorbell?

A few times, yeah. But not so much anymore.

Extra Credit Question:

Lets talk about typing

Do you use:
Touch typing ?
Have to look at the keys ?
All your fingers ?
Just a few ?

I'm currently trying to teach myself to type professionally, but for faster and more natural typing I use like my first two fingers on either hand and can get out some fast verbiage with just those. But I'm practicing my non-orthodox typing style and seem to be doing alright.

Did you learn to type:
In school ?
Self--taught ?
On a real typewriter ?
A computer ?

In my elementary school, on a computer.

Just for fun:

Have you ever "Yo- Yo'd" ?
Can you do any of the fancy Yo-Yo tricks ?

Back when I was in my elementary school, yo-yo's were like the ****, so everyone had one, including myself. We'd all show off our tricks while waiting in the lunch line. It was pretty fun.
