I was born in '76 . I wish kids were still responsible for themselves and their own actions. I wish teachers still relied on students to do their school work. I never needed help with mine for school, and even if I did I was out of luck. When you had a report due you went to the library during school and checked out a book, if you needed pictures you drew them. And you read and you wrote and there was no "spellcheck", you did that yourself too. When you were graounded , they took the "radio" out of your room (you didn't have a TV in there). And if you were caught looking at the TV while walking through the Living Room you were grounded longer. And yes, if you talked back you got beat and then you didn't talk back so much. =)

My kids catch lightning bugs!!! I taught them how to cut holes in the lid of a jar, or cut holes in one plastic cup and tape it on top of another plastic cup to creat a "house" for them. We have a good time doing it and I'm glad it's something innocent that I can share from my childhood with them.

I miss learning about war history books, NOT experiencing it firsthand, losing people we love because we let our guard down, watching it on the news, teaching my children what terrorism is and who Os.BnLdn. is and expecting them to understand why 9/11 happened!!!!!!!!!! I repeat what I said in my very first post on here...I miss the innocence....we need to give it back to today's children!!
