How many of you have ever used a dial telephone ? ~ OMG lets not go there, thousands of them over the years. You do mean rotary dial phones don’t you?

Does anyone still have either of the above ? ~ Yes,, I have maybe ten phones with “rotary” dials and cords on them in the garage. I also have an old wooden operator cord-board PBX system stored in there. All phones needed to be plugged in for service and the operator did the dialing for you. She also answered all the incoming calls and used the cords to patch the call to the different employees of the business. It was the last PBX system of its kind and I removed it from service back in 1979 and installed the third electronic processor controlled PBX switching system for the customer. What a jump in history from the past to the future for them at the time.
I also worked on the old 8 party farm lines for service and repair that proved very interesting at the time.

Have you ever had to use them ? NO but in my 20's, did live in a house thats roof caught on fire when heat was turned on first time in the winter season (in CA) My baby was asleep in her crib right under the worst damage. Luckily some kids in the backyard behind us noticed the flames and told me in the nick of time. Took at least a month for all repairs at which time I had to live with MIL and had no fire estinguisher at the time.

I know this is off topic a wee bit but I have two things,
1. Thank you for all of the birthday wishes for Aunt Dolly for her 90th, she will love to hear it.
2. How do you all put a comment on the rep points? I have searched and just cannot find the instructions for that. I try to find answers in help sections before I ask.
no specific plans, but some vague ideas for the weekend. yes to the phone questions and fire extinguisher. I don't really try to hide my hair per se I typically make a decision based on if I am having a stay at home hair day or going out. However I think if I did decide to cover it up I would use a hat or cap. hey we all made it to Fridays so aLLyaLL keep the spirit of party in ur own way. have a good time, be kind and it u can't get ugly in a nice way of course.

We had two dial phones in my house when growing up (in the 90's).

Those two phones also had chords to them, the loopy kind that would stretch when you trying to walk farther away.

They're both still in my Mom's house. Though I don't think we use them very often. Only if the main line is busy.

We do. Again, because we volunteer at the Red Cross. We have an extinguisher in the living room and another one in the basement.

I have a buzz cut. The only time it gets a kink in it is when I wear my hearing aid/FM system and it puts a kink in my hair. Easily remedied by splashing a bit of water on my head (after taking my aid off, obviously). When I had longer hair I would wear hats, but now there's too much going on on my head with my glasses and my hearing aid device, lol. No room for a hat.
