I would think this is a problem you have in the work employee area, right? Being that most ppl don't care, because it's at work... But as to being slobs like Bulldog says, they are probably slobs at home too.

My solution that works for me is to only microwave at 50 or 60%
power for a longer period of time...this stops my food from popping and spitting all over the microwave interior....most of the time, anyway.
Good one! I dont think many people realize you can adjust the settings so its not always on high all the time every time.

Well it's just me at the house, but I stop mine when there's time still left but then just hit reset to heat up something else.

Happy Labor Day weekend all.

Bizarre!!!! Not sure I get this post... are you running your microwave while this is happening? I don't know what it has to do with microwave issues.... but I guess for your sake, I hope she gets boned too!

Cowboy, I live alone as you know and sometimes, I do this very thing to MYSELF!!! LOL Then I'm irritated when I come back to reheat something else and it won't go on because I haven't cleared it. Now that you've explained the safety behind the beeps, etc., I'll leave it be!!!

This is what I do as well. When I'm re-heating, I use a lower power so the food gets warm but doesn't overcook. Stuff comes out way better that way AND doesn't make a mess.

We've got a fairly new M/W with a broil element. I admit I haven't used it yet. I also rarely attempt to adjust power settings. Too hard to see those stinking little words on the touch panel.
