Default Today's Pet Peeve - Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Happy Hump Day, Peevers!

Today's Peeve: People who drink directly out of the milk/orange juice container.

Talk about contamination! I don't care if you are blood relatives, married, whatever... that can be very hazardous! What if you are carrying flu germs on you? You have just now introduced that flu germ to anyone who uses that milk or orange juice. They invented cups for a reason! Use them!~ (And if you don't have any cups in your home... and yes, I have heard that excuse... please let me know, I'll send you some cups on the house. )

My kids all do this. It drives me NUTS. I do not want their gross spit floating around in the OJ, regardless of what germs they may or may not be carrying at the time. The younger ones aren't very good at it, either, so they spill it all over themselves and onto the floor.

Let's just say you would never do it twice in my house.

I don't think it is a peeve for me as I live alone except for my teenagers and I have way more serious battles to fight than "don't u drink out of a container". Now if I had a spouse or a roommate I suspect I would be mighty peeved, but my "don't sweat the small stuff" attitude would prevail... I hope

I'm with you sun queen, I don't sweat the small stuff. Being blissfully ignorant of the small stuff may very well shorten my life. And? What will I miss? The inevitable nuclear holocaust?

I allow my ferret to drink out of my water glass, my whiskey and Club Soda and I continue drinking it. He's even dunked his whole head into the glass, and I continue drinking it.

This really is a pet peeve of mine, although I love sun queen's and tijlover's attitudes. My son has figured out a way to get around actually touching the container....he just tilts his head back and pours it in without it touching his mouth. Still too close proximity to the mouth imo though.
