Hi Suncoast Guy! Thank you for doing this.....gosh, it's been so long since I answered QOTD, (well, not that long, but it feels like eons), that I had to think about how to make it a different color......(and you are thinking, 'is she telling the truth or not?')

Today's “Time Travel” Question(s):

Let's go just a little bit back in time to the 1990's. Tell us... what was you're favorite 1990's...

Year? I had a baby in December '89. You expect me to remember a certain year in the 90's? hahahahahahahahaha! <woman is stilll rolling on the floor ten minutes later laughing her guts out> The 90's were filled with diapers, training pants, Happy Meals, field trips, hugs, kisses, homework, carpool, snowcones, 'the pink medicine', owies, science club, horse riding lessons, Europe, sailing lessons, fish crackers, Candyland, wagons, tricycles, training wheels, putting millions of zig-zag stitches on the worn-out-used-to-be-white, blankie named Babba, bubbles, Barbies, Band-aids, Play Doh, piano lessons, piano practice, German tutor, rubber hamburgers and doughnuts, red Icees, Fisher Price, easels, math tutors, swimming pools, room mother, jump ropes, Legos, play lipstick, sack lunches, ponytails, cookies, birthday bags for every kid in the class, Hawaii, many, many cuppie cakes, helping out in the classroom, helping serve pizza lunch, birthday parties, jungle gyms, Chutes and Ladders, fundraisers .....

Um, what was the question again?

Song? definitely something in the country western category.....

TV Show? Well, let's see.....in the 90's, I saw a lot of Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Fraggle Rock, every Disney movie about 600,000 times, Winnie the Pooh and many, many other children's videos..... I can't even remember which adult shows were on.....St. Elsewhere, Hill Street Blues?

I'm a late bloomer---when I can't sleep, I watch 'Friends' and 'Frasier' reruns.......what a bunch of neurotic actors with great writers! I sit in the dark laughing all by myself. Were they on in the 90's?

Memory? Everything having to do with my child, of course!

Bonus Question:

If you were an egg, how would you be cooked? Scrambled....with a lot of hot salsa on it.

“Extra Credit Question”:

Do you look at the comic strips in the daily newspaper? Yes, but I'm getting very annoyed with the L.A. Times.....they are getting more and more tiny all the time..(and no, it's not because my eyes are aging)..and the Sunday comics used to come in 2 sections....now they are about 3 pages......

“Connecting with the QOTD Gang” Question:
Today, we're connecting with normie! Since we know how much she HATES Nutella … I wanted to ask...

Would you consider yourself to be in the Nutella fan club? No. I first had it in Switzerland.....don't really care for it. But, I sure know of a lot of 'sweet and very kind' people on here who love it! I even think of them when I see it in the store...and, being a coupon shopper, I wish they lived near me so I could give them coupons for it when I come across them in the Sunday paper...

“Just for Fun”:

I am so excited that my daughter loves her new college! So far, she's exhausted but happy!

“This or That” Questions:

Creamy or Crunchy Peanut Butter ? Crunchy. Too smooth/creamy tends to gag me.
Desktop Computer or Laptop ? Desktop, even though it takes up too much space. I am just so much faster on a regular keyboard...but I guess I could get used to a laptop, too...and yes, I know I can connect an additional keyboard and use a regular mouse with a laptop, but that kinda defeats the purpose....
Cell Phone or Land Line? Both.
Suncoast Guy or Suncoast Guy ? (Now I can't let you folks have ALL the fun, can I? )(And FYI, “the third choice” is not an answer! ) Such a kind heart, you are!

Today in History:
1773 - Benjamin Franklin writes "There never was a good war or bad peace"
1875 - 1st newspaper cartoon strip
1883 - James Cutler patents postal mail chute
1910 - 1st commercially successful electric bus line opens (Hollywood)
1950 - 1st typesetting machine to dispense with metal type exhibited
1954 - 1st Miss America TV broadcast I am not one for beauty pageants. In fact, as I age, I like them less and less.
1962 - Drummer Ringo Starr replaces Pete Best of the Beatles one of the two remaining
2001 - 19 Islamic terrorists hijack four commercial jets, killing nearly 3,000 in New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City disintegrate after being hit by 2 of the 4 commercial airliners hijacked by the Al Qaeda terrorists.

***PLEASE take some time today to think about all those folks who tragically lost their lives on this day 9 years ago. May they never be forgotten.*** A sad, sad day, not only for the immediate families and friends, but also for our country and the whole of mankind.

Word of the Day:
debacle \dee-BAH-kul\ noun
A great disaster or complete failure

Today is:
Patriot Day/Remember Freedom Day
National Hot Cross Buns Day I'd rather have a Hebrew National today. It seems like Hot Cross Buns is in a child's poem, or a hand clapping or jump rope song or something.
National Neighborhood Day
Ugly Woman Day Who thought of this one? They need a spankin'!
Make Your Bed Day I'm guilty.
No News is Good News Day sometimes..... I'm sure the families of those men trapped in the mine don't agree with this one
National Lacemaking Day
quite an art, especially in Belgium!

Have a nice weekend, all!

Today's “Time Travel” Question(s):

Let's go just a little bit back in time to the 1990's. Tell us... what was you're favorite 1990's...

Year? All of them!!

Song? I'm a big techno fan--lots of good stuff from the 90's.

TV Show? Not a TV watcher!

Memory? Meeting my husband.

Bonus Question:

If you were an egg, how would you be cooked? Over medium.

“Extra Credit Question”:

Do you look at the comic strips in the daily newspaper?
Yes, I love Dilbert and Bizarro. I love Get Fuzzy also but the newspaper dropped it.

“Connecting with the QOTD Gang” Question:
Today, we're connecting with normie! Since we know how much she HATES Nutella … I wanted to ask...

Would you consider yourself to be in the Nutella fan club?
Yes, my mom used to fix me Nutella, peanut butter and banana sandwiches. If I've had an ultra-crappy day I'll make one for dinner. Doesn't happen too often anymore but that's OK, I'm not sure my pancreas could handle those sandwiches on a regular basis.

Creamy or Crunchy Peanut Butter ? I like creamy but the husband likes crunchy and he eats more PB than I do so that's what I buy.

Today's “Time Travel” Question(s):

Let's go just a little bit back in time to the 1990's. Tell us... what was you're favorite 1990's...

Year?
1996 - I left California and burned that bridge behind me.

Song?
No idea.

TV Show?
None

Memory?
1. When I saw my first grandchild for the first time.

2. When a guy at a rest stop in CA near the NV line started up a conversation with me, started schmoozing me, invited me to follow him into Jean NV and have lunch with him. (He was very obviously hitting on me.) I thought to myself, "Why not? We'll be in a crowd at all times." He followed me into NV, we had lunch at the first hotel/casino across the state line, talked for awhile......and then after eating, I thanked him for the meal, told him how nice it was of him to invite me to have lunch with him and then walked out, leaving him sitting there at the table all alone and looking very disappointed. (He obviously had more in mind than just lunch.) I then got in my car and continued on my way to WY.

Bad girl, bad girl!!!

(I love telling this story.)

Bonus Question:

If you were an egg, how would you be cooked? Hard boiled.

“Extra Credit Question”:

Do you look at the comic strips in the daily newspaper?
Don't take a newspaper anymore but I looked at them when I did.

“Connecting with the QOTD Gang” Question:

Today, we're connecting with normie! Since we know how much she HATES Nutella … I wanted to ask...

Would you consider yourself to be in the Nutella fan club?

The twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City disintegrate after being hit by 2 of the 4 commercial airliners hijacked by the Al Qaeda terrorists. I won't forget.
