Angry Ok I have a rant to get off my chest

Ok here goes. Why do people think that they need to be so rude to others?

I work in Banking and I truly believe if you work in Banking for any amount of time you will truly see the "BAD" side of people (not all, but most). Apparently it is the Bankers fault that Billy Bob screwed up his account and went negative or that "the bank didnt call me to tell me I was out of money" (Yes seriously someone said that to me before).
And apparently most people think that Banking is just some "cushy" job that you get to sit on your rear all day (maybe the big wigs do but not little guys). Most people in banking put in an average of 9-10 hour days, pluse Saturdays (and get paid crap for it). People in Banking get all kinds of abuse from various people (not matter if they are deserving of it or not). Banking is a stressfull job (you are dealing with someone else's money all day and thousands of dollars in cash). Then you also have to worry about someone robbing you at work or possibly following you home or calling your house (yes this has happened to me).

Im not saying we are always right, Im just saying we dont deserve the crap that we have to put up with day to day.

Anyway Im done with my rant for the night, thanks for listening.

You just gotta learn how to accept that you cannot change people, places, or things and accept only thing you can change which is you.

I've gotta agree with the original poster here... I worked at the Front Desk of a hotel for 2 years- people are just plain obnoxious. The smallest thing goes wrong and people believe that gives them the excuse to get irate. Most of the time, the problem is not your fault but people take their problems out on you anyway. I guess it's hard to understand for people who have not worked in customer service.

that is only beacaus it is your job to fix it .it dosent have to be your fault. The ony reason some people get irate is to express the gravity of the situation to someone that otherwise wouldnt care at all.

I understand both sides of this discussion. I work in a dr's office, and people get angry at us when they call a day before they need an appointment and we can't accomodate them, etc. Yes, sometimes people can be unreasonable. However, I have done (or thought of doing) some of the same things that annoy me. And every job is stressful. Just ask anyone who works, period!

OP, I agree with you. When you make a mistake in your acct, it is your fault. Fforget to register that debit? I've done it. My husband rages all the time because he uses his debit for everything and gets a pile of them and then enters them at the end of the week or something and oops, there wasn't enough in there. Then its the f'n banks fault because they didn't tell them.

I am not a banker, but I feel for you. He makes me crazy listening to him..blah blah blah, I'll take my money somewhere else... lllll so?

I am always very cordial and friendly to the tellers when I go in. Yes, I wear my shrek ears to the bank... It makes them smile... everyone needs a smile..

You're right, sherrenee. 1st hubby was a banker, he started out at the bottom and worked his way up. I don't think there was a time we went out to dinner and didn't have it interrupted by somebody who wanted to know what the rates were or how he could get a loan or why they messed with him the way they did. It was ridiculous. And I still get ticked when I hear people say "Oh, you must have banker's hours." Yeh, right.
