i realy do think the penny should be scrapped.!! most pennies are just sitting in jars at peoples residences.

i knew this girl she had one of those big 5 gallon water bottles half full,, dang thing weighed like 100 pounds
Why in the name of everything that is Holy would someone throw that much away.

I'm saving my next batch of pennies for my other grandson who is only 1 year old at this time.
That's a lot of peeing-hey maybe I should try that!

I have a tin of them. When it gets full, I cash them in and deposit them. Yes I would pick up a penny. I need the exercise!

Keeping the penny tricks shoppers into thinking they're getting a bargain. That 99c thing pulls in a lot of money for stores.

Our bank has a huge machine that sorts and counts change. They just throw it all in and give you the dollars.

We have a huge change jar. It now includes dollar bills. Once it's full we'll decide what we'll do with it. Holiday, house rennovation project,, etc.

Exactly... Merchants make out like bandits on the pennies. What's the difference between $.99 and $1??? ONE PENNY but yet pricing things at the .99 cent mark versus on the whole dollar gives many the false perception that they are getting a bargain when all they are saving is ONE PENNY!

Some grocery stores have a machine that will count and credit you for them, but you have to pay a percentage as a fee.

My bank charges $2.00 fee for running coins through their little machine, which I think is ridiculous. SO I wait until I have a big ol can full of pennies and bring it in, then the $2.00 doesn't seem like a bad deal, and it really annoys the tellers. Sounds mean when I type it out like that, lol, but JEEZ~ $2 to push a button? Anyway- I'll admit I usually have this great idea to save up all my change and go on vacation with it or something after a few years, but usually end up raiding the silver when I am short on cash. The pennies stay in there though, I'm never THAT broke.

Yes, I have a container of pennies. I use them when I play penny-ante poker with a group of friends.

I often bend down to pick up a penny from the ground. Why not?

I have a jug of coins--pennies, dimes, and nickels! I have another jar that is strictly quarters!

I only bend down to pick up a penny if it is heads up. Bad luck to pick it up if it is tails up! I do bend over though and turn it heads up for someone else to pick up and have luck!
