What was your best "and the crowd went wild" (or they would of if they had seen it) moment ? Actually, mine is a bit morbid, I was asked to speak at my friends funeral. I gladly accepted and felt that "fear of public speaking" phobia surface. And I said to myslelf, "Huh-uh! Not this time! Go up there and honor him the way he deserves to be honored." And I did. And it was great.

Extra Credit Question:
The following inspired by a suggestion from our own Elston

Today's Question(s):

What was your best "and the crowd went wild" (or they would of if they had seen it) moment ?

Hmmm. I presented A Most Valuable Player Award once to a member of a professional hockey team. I'm pretty sure they went wild for him, though, not my speech. I was voted Miss Playground by the older kids when I was little. Does that count?

Extra Credit Question:
The following inspired by a suggestion from our own Elston

Is it stuffing or dressing ?

stuffing

Do you make it the same as your mother did or use your own recipe?

I don't make the stuffing usually.

Bonus Question:

Oops !Has anyone ever left the "little bag 0' stuff" inside by mistake and cooked the turkey that way?

Yes, that's why I don't make the stuffing, usually.

Today's Question(s):

What was your best "and the crowd went wild" (or they would of if they had seen it) moment ?
At the 2006 Jeg's Alstar race at RT66. My boss called at 11am and asked if I could be there by noon to sing the National Anthem. The singer scheduled couldn't make it. Quick shower and a 35 mi drive and a golf cart ride to the starting line. With TV camera's in my face and 35-40 thousasnd in the stands I nailed it and the crowd went wild. In retrospect I'm not sure if the reaction was for me or the race cars that fired up

Extra Credit Question:
The following inspired by a suggestion from our own Elston

Is it stuffing or dressing ?
Stuffing, I am much too much of a gentleman to watch a turkey get dressed.

Do you make it the same as your mother did or use your own recipe ?
I know it's not my mom's but I don't know whose it is. I've never made stuffing before, Nancy always did it. I'll let you know next Sat.

Do you add any of the following: See above.
Dry Bread ?
Crackers ?
Corn Bread ?
Mashed Potato ?
Mushrooms?
Oysters?
Chestnuts?
Other ?

Bonus Question:

Oops !Has anyone ever left the "little bag 0' stuff" inside by mistake and cooked the turkey that way?
I have done the Turkey for the last 40 years and can honestly say I haven't yet.

Speaking of the little "bag 0' stuff" inside:
Do you use the turkey gizzard, liver, heart, neck that you find inside the "little bag 0' stuff" ?
Yes

If so how ?
They get boiled along with celery and onions to make broth for the stuffing.

Thanks Elston !!!

Just for Fun:

What is your favorite:
Carbonated Beverage with Caffeine ?
Pepsi although Jones just came out with bacon flavored soda. I haven't found it yet but if it has caffeine it could replace the coffee I have with eggs
Pop Tart Flavor ?
Don't remember
Cereal topper ?
I eat my cereal the way it comes out of the box with milk. I may have to try it with bacon soda.
Toast topper ?
Apple Jelly

Today's Question(s):
What was your best "and the crowd went wild" (or they would of if they had seen it) moment? The first time I sang O Mio Babbino Caro (Puccini) at a recital. I was elated!

Extra Credit Question:
The following inspired by a suggestion from our own Elston
Is it stuffing or dressing? Stuffing in my house! To me, "dressing" would be something outside the turkey, which dresses it up. "Stuffing" is stuffed inside the turkey.
Do you make it the same as your mother did or use your own recipe? Same way mom did. No recipe; just memory.

Do you add any of the following:
Dry Bread?
Crackers?
Corn Bread ?
Mashed Potato?
Mushrooms?
Oysters?
Chestnuts?
Other?
Pre-cooked giblets.

Bonus Question:
Oops! Has anyone ever left the "little bag 0' stuff" inside by mistake and cooked the turkey that way? Not I, but my aunt did this once.
Speaking of the little "bag 0' stuff" inside:
Do you use the turkey gizzard, liver, heart, neck that you find inside the "little bag 0' stuff"? All of 'em. It's all delicious!
If so how? Simmer the neck and giblets in water with some celery and onions until they're well cooked. Then I remove the giblets and cut them up, and I put half the chopped giblets in the stuffing and save half for the gravy. I remove the meat from the neck (which is very delicious and tender) and return it to the liquid, add a few veggies, some chicken stock and some herbs to make a small pot of soup.

Thanks Elston !!! Yes...Thanks, Elston!

Just for Fun: Fun is always fun.
What is your favorite:
Carbonated Beverage with Caffeine? Diet Coke (but I prefer it with no caffeine)
Pop Tart Flavor? I don't eat these.
Cereal topper? Skim milk.
Toast topper? Nutella. Since Normie introduced me to this, my next favorite topping is a distant second!

Today in History:
1863 - U.S. President Abraham Lincoln delivered his "Gettysburg Address"
1895 - Frederick E. Blaisdell patents the pencil
1928 - After five years of publication, "TIME" magazine presented a cover portrait for the first time. Japanese Emperor Hirohito was the magazine’s first cover subject. (Thumbs up for Time.)
1954 - Two automatic toll collectors were placed in service on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey. The nation’s first automatic toll collector accepted only correct change. One needed a quarter to activate the green light. Wow. A quarter back then sounds kind of steep for a toll.
1965 - Kellogg's Pop Tarts pastries created

I like being chimerical sometimes. Life's a hoot!

Today is:

World Toilet Day
Play Monopoly Day
Use Less Stuff Day
Pop Tart Day
