Did you know, in the wild, Macaws and Cockatoos can fly 500 miles per day in search of food. Some parrot vocalizations can be heard for up to 1 mile. <---- that sentence I attest to!

Have you ever owned a bird species that dwelled inside your home? I've had parakeets, canaries, and a cockatiel at different stages of my life. The cockatiel bonded with my ex and would begin his ear piercing squeal when the ex was still a half mile from home!!!!!

I had a scarlet macaw a way long time ago. She was noisy, but she could talk. I started getting obscene phone calls around that time. One time, I just put the phone receiver on top of Lucy's cage, and let her squawk for as long & loud as she wanted. It stopped the obscene phone calls. LoL!!!

I think I can attest to the one mile "screech" as well!

We've had Parakeets, Canaries, Lovebirds and an Orange-winged Amazon. Noisy was not the word on the Amazon!

We had a parakeet when I was a child.

Now I'm with Dbl-R, we just feed them outside.

I like to watch birds and feed them outisde. I don't want when making a racket inside the house

Just think how much thinner we would all be if it was that hard for us to get food

Actually I did know that about parrots considering I've lived in rainforests. Have to say they make great alarm clocks.

Since I've had cats the majority of the time I've lived here, no birds resided indoors. Did have a bat or two decide they wanted to check out the inside, but they weren't permanent guests.
