Today's Question(s):

I am thrifty/frugal when it comes to

I'm pretty much thrifty/frugal with everything. Something my dad told me has always stuck with me and that is: It's okay to spend money, but not waste money. I buy what I need, but I don't waste money.

Bonus Question:

Fess up Have you ever stayed out all night "playing" came home showered and went to work ? I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count One thing I have to say is that I have never, ever in my life called in 'sick' because I'd been out partying. Felt like crap, but I was at work.

Extra Credit Question:

When was the last time you used or wanted to use the phrase

"It's my way or the highway" ? I live with a cat and that phrase doesn't work LOL

Inquiring Minds Question:

Did you take "Drivers Ed" in School ? Yip! Scared the instructor a tad when he told me I could pass the driver in front of me, so I floored the car and zoomed past. He just looked at me and said I didn't need to drive quite that fast when I passed

Just for Fun:

How old were you when you got your

Learners permit ? 15 1/2
Your Drivers License ? 16 (though I was driving before I was supposed to)

My DS was around 17+ before he got his license; said he didn't want the hassle. A mother's dream

Do you know without checking what year you have to renew your License ? Yes, 2013 - I still drive on my CO license LOL

Today in History:
1876 - Sardines 1st canned by Julius Wolff-Eastport, Maine
1867 - 1st ship passes through Suez Canal
1883 - A. Ashwell patents free-toilet in London

1962 - Beach Boys introduced a new musical style with their hit "Surfin"
1972 - President Richard M. Nixon departed Washington, DC on his historic trip to China. He was the first U.S. president to go to China Shame he didn't stay there

Word of the Day:
ululate \ UL-yuh-layt; YOOL- \ , intransitive verb;
1. To howl, as a dog or a wolf; to wail; During a full moon it's something when all the dogs go off

Today is:
National Indian Pudding Day
National Café Au Lait Day just make it reaaaaaal strong
My Way Day I like this day
National PTA Day
Quiet Day Shsssss
Who Shall I Be Day Me

Today's Question(s):

I am thrifty/frugal when it comes to
1.
My day-to-day wardrobe - I don't need a lot of clothes and don't need to spend a lot on them.
2.
"Stuff" - don't need a lot of doodads or knick-knacks
3.
Hotel accommodation - clean and safe is fine with me; don't need mini-bars, room service or marble foyers

I am Not thrifty/frugal when it comes to:
1.
A good meal out with friends
2.
Being warm - I'll pay whatever it takes to not be cold
3.
Travel

Bonus Question:

Fess up Have you ever stayed out all night "playing" came home showered and went to work ?
Not in a long time. Though I have pulled a couple of all-nighters in the last few years... but didn't have to work next day!

Extra Credit Question:

When was the last time you used or wanted to use the phrase

"It's my way or the highway" ?
Not since my daughter was a child. She would probably now tell you I don't have to say it, she just knows that if she's in my house it's my rules!

Inquiring Minds Question:

Did you take "Drivers Ed" in School ?
It wasn't offered in my school (in UK)

Just for Fun:

How old were you when you got your

Learners permit ?
About 26 (I moved to London at age 17 - had no use for a car; then moved to Sydney and lived very close to the city centre, so again no need for a car)
Your Drivers License ?
6 weeks later

Do you know without checking what year you have to renew your License ?
Hmmm, mine is a 5-year license which I remember renewing not that long ago... so maybe it will be time in 3 or 4 years. So no, I don't know what year it will be.

Goodnight everyone. Have a great Thursday.

Today's Question(s):

I am thrifty/frugal when it comes to
1. Buying vegetables
2. Haircuts (don't have much to cut)
3. Company travel

I am Not thrifty/frugal when it comes to:
1. Cheese (once paid 32 dollars a pound for a very good blue cheese)
2. Las Vegas
3. Chinese takeout

Bonus Question:

Fess up Have you ever stayed out all night "playing" came home showered and went to work ?
I know better. Furthermore, is booze is involved, DOT regulations says I must stop drinking at least 8 hours before I go to work.

Extra Credit Question:

When was the last time you used or wanted to use the phrase

"It's my way or the highway" ?
I have told this to many of the ground handlers we use to load our airplanes.

Inquiring Minds Question:

Did you take "Drivers Ed" in School ?
I already had my license when I took Drivers Ed in school. I only took it to get a break on insurance. It was a real joke. The first day I was to drive, there was a whiteout snowstorm. The other student with me did not know how to drive. She spent more time in the ditch than on the road. The next week the teacher (our vice principal) just tossed me the keys and asked me to take someone to the airport. The teacher did not come along. That was the last time I even got into the Drivers Ed car let alone actually drive. Got an "A" for the class and a certificate saying I completed the required 6 hours of driving.

Just for Fun:

How old were you when you got your

Learners permit ?
Never had one. I was driving by the time I was 12. By the time I was 14 I could borrow the car pretty much any time I wanted.

Your Drivers License ?
16
A lot of kids have to beg their dad to let them drive once they turn 16. I had no choice. My dad said it was my turn to drive him around. After getting my license I can only recall a couple times where my dad drove when I was in the car.

Do you know without checking what year you have to renew your License ?
Yes I do. It expires 3 years from today.
