Black Angus with one black baldy in the bunch. Black baldy = Hereford Angus cross.

I am not really sure that I am impressed that I know that...but after living in the country for so long and in a farming family/community, I would be embarrassed not knowing. Thanks Nomad.

I always took Herefords to show at fairs but had friends with Angus. Best beef I ever had was Brown Swiss X Hereford. Many years ago.

Actually, those cows are Gelbviehs.

Taken the same day. If I'm out in the backyard, they like to hang around and watch from over the fence.

Well I guess I was half right. The picture reminds me of my wonderful Great Pyrenees, Elan who spent so much time in with the cattle. I fed three orphaned spring calves one year and gave them all girls names that I would have given to my own little girl. Bad idea, never name what someone is going to eat.
