Organ transplant, would you?
Would you, without a shadow of a doubt, no ifs, ands or butts give an organ to a loved one?
That is, of course if your a match. If not, why? religion, politics?
I would without any reservations to my children or my parents or to my SO.
What's your thoughts? Pros and cons welcome.

depends how much it would help and who. I would only give to family or spouse. If it would let them live a healthy life for the rest of their life and they were under 70 probably. But if they are 80 and the kidney will work for 3 or 4 years then probably not.

I would definitely donate an organ - however, the chances that I would be a match for anyone are highly unlikely. I'm of mixed ethinicity. I did register with an organ donor organization though - so perhaps if there is some other Jewpanese person out there that needs an organ someday, I can be of help!

I would And I would donate to a stranger if I were a match. Not a child molester, murderer or a violent criminal- I draw a line on evil people.
I'm on the Donate Texas- Donor registry and my family is aware of this.
I'm also registered with the bone marrow registry.
National Marrow Donor Program - Be The Match Marrow Registry
I donate blood as often as I can.
I have been blessed with great health and so have my 6 children. Why wouldn't I want to help another human being with medical problems? I try to teach my kids to treat others how you want to be treated and my behavior has more influence than my words.

I would definitely do it for my Mom and Stepdad. I wouldn't think twice.
I would probably do it for my spouse (if I had one), but it would depend on
how good our marriage is. I was married once to an awful person, so I wouldn't do it for someone like that.
I would like to donate blood, but I was told I can't, because I lived in Germany for 6 years between 1998 and 2004.

Well I'm a diabetic so donating a kidney would be out. However I would be more than willing to donate a portion of my liver or bone marrow to close family members and friends.

I would donate an organ. Though, as another poster said, I would not want to donate to a criminal or an elderly person. So many young people, with decades ahead of them, need transplants, and my choice would be to help someone like that rather than someone who's elderly and has already had a relatively full life. Also, I would hesitate to donate to someone who has a terribly unhealthy lifestyle and makes no effort to improve his or her health by making better choices.
