How sad for the family. I hope for the family's sake this really was an accident but there is the possibility it was not. It could have been a deliberate act on his part. I have known of other cases of a suicide to follow a death. This has happened to celebrity widows, too. The wife of Mario Lanza committed suicide a few weeks after his death. The daughter of Marlon Brando, Cheyenne, committed suicide a few months after her lover was murdered by her brother, Christian Brando.
