Good selection of music, SATX56. I'd love to change the world, was in my head last week or so. Here's one you might like by Bread. I read that only David Gates is still living.

I'd like to see a bit more commentary with the selections, maybe what the songs means to you, if anything, and why its in your head. Just a suggesting is all.

From their first album. This should have been a hit, but maybe to sad? It fits how many felt then and now. It's one of my favorites.

Funny that you mention "I'd Love to Change the World". It was truly stuck in my head for almost 40 years. I didn't think of it everyday but had forgotten it all these years. I like it more now than I did back then. In fact of all that I like in music it ranks at the top. I couldn't remember the song but I recalled the tune and some lyric ..very little though. I got lucky and found it . I'd say early to mid 70's were my most important music years. This was essentially a one hit wonder for Ten Years After!
Bread was huge in the 70's. David Gates did it all. They had many songs I treasured. Still do. The song Look What you've done is a great song but wasn't on my faves list back then.

The other guy James Griffith was a big contributor to the band though. They were all fine musicians. I've played the drums since I was a kid, I liked playing Breads faster tunes like, "down on my knees", and "easy love". I liked all the tunes you mentioned, they really had no bad songs on their albums, imo. The 70's was a great decade for music as a whole. I was listening to "the days of wine and roses" the other day, it just popped in my head.

I was watching some show on the band Thin Lizzy. Anyone remember them or like them? I had most of their albums and liked drumming to their stuff. Philip Lynott was a great song writer, really a poet. Many of his songs were about his own struggles. I guess this songs been in my head some cuz of my own struggles.
