What these are? I thought I would post these so if anyone knew. Plus the fact there is no What is This? Forum. Would make a good one. So here they are.
1. About 12 inches tall
2. What I call the base has grooves that go all the way around. (It is not threaded)
3. Wood appears to be pine
4. There are small holes drilled straight though 6ix on one side, 4 on the other.
5. The hole in the bottom (wide end I think) goes straight though.
There does not appear to be any burned areas at the end.

They are used in the textile mills to maintain fiber or yarn to be woven into fabric or for knitting. The yarn is wrapped on the spools and maintained by wooden keepers (small pegs) that are inserted into the holes along the cylinder. This is just one of many cylinders that are placed on the textile machine in a factory for producing fabric.
